The syllabus aims to develop the learner’s knowledge and understanding of financial protection products, how they interact with State Benefits, the main features of contracts and the main protection needs of businesses. It does this by splitting the learning over 10 learning outcomes:

R05: ‘Financial Protection’ (10 Credits) The CII’s R05 exam, ‘ Financial Protection’ forms part of the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and upon successful completion will give you 10 credits at diploma level. As noted on the facing page, there are 10 learning outcomes for the R05 exam, with different weight and emphasis applied to each. The R05 course is suitable for anyone wanting to gain the full CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, but would be particularly beneficial for also Paraplanners, Technical Consultants, and those working in financial planning support roles.

The exam is a 1 hour exam, made up of 50 questions; all of which are multiple response questions, which require you to select more than one answer. The question will not specify howmany answers you need to select! The R05 exam has a current pass mark of 65%. R05: The Exam
